Our client's Advanced Modeling team was envisioned by the CEO and has quickly grown to provide key data driven decision making analyses for executive and senior management including the CEO, COO, CFO, CSCO, and Business Presidents. In the last year, they delivered projects and initiatives that garnered more than $100 million in free cash flow and nearly $20 million in annualized P&L savings and identified more than $40 million in sales growth opportunities.

They are looking for an Omnichannel Data Scientist to join the team and serve as an analytic resource to the organization. Because they work on the cutting edge of analytics, they need someone who is a creative problem solver, resourceful in getting things done, and productive working independently or collaboratively.

The position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the retail business environment to identify high impact opportunities.
  • Execute analytics and simulation initiatives from concept to delivery of final results.
  • Proactively support functional personnel with specific recommendations that address real business problems that are often ambiguous in nature.
  • Following established best practices, deliver high quality, cost effective analytical solutions.

They are looking for someone who has advanced analytic skills with a passion for getting things done. You want to work with smart people, learn new things, and work hard to build something great. And you also meet the following criteria:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Analytics, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Management Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in relevant analytic or simulation modeling, preferably in a CPG company or retailer.
  • Practical experience with some or all of the following tools:

                Base SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Forecast Studio, SAS
               JMP, R, Oracle CrystalBall, IBM LogicNetPlus, IBM IPFA, and Arena.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of some or all of the following:

               multivariate regression, logistic regression, decision trees, optimization, discrete 
               event simulation, Monte Carlo simulation, predictive modeling, pattern identification,
               demand sensing, time series (forecasting), and segmentation.

  • Practical knowledge of manipulating, cleansing, aggregating, and compiling analytic data.
  • Practical knowledge of relational databases including ability to write SQL.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a matrix organization are critical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Mastery of MS Office tools is required.
